Letter from Stephanie Raible, Board Chair

Dear USASBE Community,

What excites me most about stepping into the role of Board Chair is our members. You bring energy, creativity, and care to entrepreneurship education, and being part of this community is a privilege.

At another recent conference, I realized the most meaningful conversations I had were with people I know through USASBE. Our conferences create rare connections where colleagues become friends and ideas become collaborations. Personally, I have found most of my co-authors through USASBE, and this community has enabled me to grow my network and sense of belonging in the field. This is what makes USASBE truly special.

This year, we are focusing on you. We are expanding opportunities to connect, listen, and turn ideas into action. Through your research, teaching, and practice, you shape the future of entrepreneurship education, and together we make that future stronger.

We also know some members have not been able to attend our conference and events in person. Our new Membership Taskforce is creating more year round touchpoints so every member can stay engaged. If you have ideas, please reach out to me, Jenn, Hannah, or any Membership Taskforce or Board Member.

Research opportunities are also growing this year. Competitive, awards eligible submissions now require only an extended abstract, with full papers due later in the semester. This reflects member feedback and makes participation more accessible while keeping our standards high. Our newly-formed Research Taskforce will also be finding more opportunities to better serve our research active members.

Our SIGs remain the heartbeat of USASBE. Board Member Stacey Reynolds will serve as our inaugural SIG Coordinator, helping SIGs collaborate more intentionally and highlighting the exciting initiatives happening across them.

All these steps move us toward a more connected and more vibrant USASBE.

We also chose Louisville as a conference location that encourages connection and fun. Our downtown hotel offers plenty of spaces to continue conversations between sessions, and members staying into the weekend can join unique Learning Journeys around the city. Conference submission deadlines will hit in late-September through mid-October, you'll see regular updates on conference news via LinkedIn, and details of all of the conference “happenings” will be released throughout the coming weeks. We hope you will be part of what is shaping up to be an incredible year.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the USASBE 2027 Conference in Louisville. It will be a celebration of our collective spirit and a chance to share, learn, and grow together.

Thank you for the work you do and the passion you bring. I am honored to serve alongside you.

Warmly,
Stephanie Raible
