Terms of Service and Privacy Statement

Welcome to the United State Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) (“we” “our” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, www.usasbe.org, and any related services provided by USASBE. By accessing or using our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • By accessing or using our website and services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website.

2. Membership Eligibility

  • Membership with USASBE is available to individuals who support our mission and meet the criteria established in our Membership Guidelines. 

3. Use of Website

  • You agree to use the website for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are prohibited from:

    • Violating any applicable laws or regulations.

    • Engaging in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use of the website.

    • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website or our servers.

    • Using the site to send spam or other unauthorized communications.

    • Scraping data and information from our website

    • Utilizing information and data to train AI models

    • Any other use that would benefit a third party - USASBE’s data is for the use of USASBE purposes

4. Intellectual Property Rights

  • All content on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of USASBE or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.

5. Member Contributions

  • Members may have opportunities to contribute content to the website, such as blog posts, event updates, and discussion forums. By submitting content, you grant USASBE a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with our mission.

6. Termination of Access

  • We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the website, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or any other reason deemed appropriate.

9. Changes to Terms

  • We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on this page, and continued use of USASBE offerings constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Privacy Statement

The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) is committed to protecting the privacy of our members, conference attendees, website visitors, and social media followers. This privacy statement outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of your personal information. 

By using USASBE's website, becoming a member, participating in our events, or engaging with us on social media, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Statement.

  1. Information Collection and Use

  • We collect personal information such as names, email addresses, and professional affiliations when individuals become members, register for events, subscribe to our communications, or interact with us on social media platforms. This information is collected through various channels, including:

    • Our website

    • Event registration forms

    • Membership applications

    • Newsletter subscriptions

    • Social media interactions (e.g., follows, likes, comments, shares)

  • This information is used for the purpose of providing USASBE services such as:

    • Membership management

    • Event registration and coordination

    • Distribution of newsletters and other relevant communications

    • Facilitation of networking among members

    • Improvement of our services and programs

    • Engagement with our community

  1. Online Data Collection and Use

  • By using www.usasbe.org, we may request that you provide personal information, including your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number and other generalized background information. Moreover, there is information about your computer hardware and software that is or may be collected by us. This information can include without limitation your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses, but is not linked to your personal information. We also get information from your use of our services including how you use them. Regarding IP Address and Clickstream Data, our server automatically collects data about your server's Internet address when you visit us. When you request pages from our web site, our servers may log your IP Address and sometimes your domain name. Your IP Address is used to help identify you and to gather demographic information about our customers as a whole, but does not include personally identifiable information. Our server may also record the referring page that linked you to us (e.g., another web site or a search engine); the portions owww.usasbe.org you visited; any search terms you have entered on www.usasbe.org, or a referral site; and other web usage activity and data logged by our web servers.

  • We use the information we gather on www.usasbe.org, whether personal, demographic, collective or technical, for the purpose of operating and improving www.usasbe.org and USASBE, fostering a positive user experience, and delivering the products and services that we offer. We may use your contact information in order to send you email or other communications regarding updates. The nature and frequency of these messages will vary depending upon the information we have about you. We additionally may employ Internet tracking and analytic tools such as Google Analytics to better understand and deliver a user experience. We also use the information that we gather for internal system administration, to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website. Such information may also be used to gather demographic information, such as country of origin and Internet Service Provider. We may link this information with your Personal Information.

  • www.usasbe.org may contain electronic images known as Web beacons (sometimes called single-pixel gifs) that allow us to count users who have visited those pages. Web beacons are not used to access your personally identifiable information; they are a technique we use to compile aggregated statistics about our Web site usage. Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides. 

  1. Social Media Data

  • We may collect publicly available information from your social media profiles when you interact with our social media accounts. This may include your name, profile picture, and engagement with our content (such as likes, comments, and shares). We use this information to better understand our audience, improve our content, and enhance our communication strategies.

  1. Data Protection

  • We have implemented commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure. However, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes. We restrict access to personal information to USASBE employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

  1. Information Sharing

  • We do not sell, rent, or lease our contact lists to third parties. Your personal information is shared only within our organization to facilitate our services and with contracted partners directly involved in delivering USASBE programs and events.

    • We disclose information to companies and individuals we employ to perform functions on our behalf, including hosting our Web servers, analyzing data, providing services such as event management or marketing, and providing customer service. These companies and individuals may have access to your personal information as necessary to perform their functions, but they may not share that information with any other third party. 

    • We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of www.usasbe.org if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to (1) meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request; (2) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations (3) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues (4) Protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of www.usasbe.org, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

  • We may share aggregated demographic information about our membership with our partners and sponsors. This information is not linked to any personal information that can identify an individual.

  1. Communications

  • USASBE communicates directly with individuals who have expressed interest in entrepreneurship education through membership, event attendance, subscription to our mailing lists, or engagement with our social media accounts. You may opt out of these communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in each email, adjusting your social media settings, or by contacting us directly.

  1. Third-Party Links and Platforms

  • Our website and social media accounts may contain links to third-party sites. USASBE is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such websites or platforms. We encourage our users to read the privacy statements of each website and social media platform that collects personally identifiable information.

  1. Updates to Privacy Statement

  • We reserve the right to modify our Privacy Statement at any time. Updates will be posted on this page, and continued use of USASBE offerings constitutes acceptance of any changes.
