General Questions

Q: What is my username/password?
A: Your username is the email you used to sign up for membership. If you don't remember your password, click the "reset password" button after entering in your e-mail. 

Q: What if I forgot my username/password?
A: If you forgot your username or password, click “Forgot your password?” after entering your email under Member Login. You will be directed to a page where you need to enter your email. Once you are done, click reset password. An email will be sent to the address that is on file.

Q: What if my email address has changed and I can't retrieve my password?
A: Please contact us.

Q: I used to be a member of USASBE, but my membership has lapsed and is expired. How can I re-up my membership?
A: If you think you were a member in the past, but you can’t log in or renew your membership, please email contact us.

Q: How do I control what information is visible on my profile?
A: Go to your member details page to edit your personal details. At the bottom of the page, you can choose what information is shared with the USASBE community. 

Q: How do I update my contact and personal information?
A: This can be done the same way as controlling what information is visible on your profile. Go to your member details page to edit your personal details.

Q: I'm not ready to become a member of USASBE. Can I be added to your email list?
A: Yes, please contact us and ask to be added to the mailing list.

Connections

Q: Can you connect with any other USASBE member?
A: Yes.

Q: How do I find other members?
A: Under the tab Membership, click the drop-down menu and select “Member Directory”. Here you are given the option to search the entire directory. You can search by a variety of keywords including Name, Academic Institution/Organization, City/Town, and Country. If you want to search all of the records, leave all of the fields blank.

Membership and Events

Q: Do I need a membership to attend the annual conference?
A: All attendees of our conference must be USASBE members. If you register for the conference and are not a USASBE member, the conference registration ticket includes USASBE membership for one year from the date of sign up.

Q: If I am a USASBE member, do I need to pay to attend the annual conference?
A: Yes, you will need to pay for the annual conference outside of your regular member dues. $185 will be deducted from your conference registration as long as you are logged in to the USASBE website and your membership dues are current.

Q: What are the member dues?
A: As of May 1st, 2022: A Regular Annual Membership is $185 per calendar year and a Student Annual Membership is $95 per calendar year.

Q: How long does my membership last?
A: Your membership lasts one year from the date of purchase.

SIGS- Special Interest Groups

Q: What is a special interest group?
A: A forum for individual members to join with others having like professional interest for the expansion and promotion of the specific field.

Q: How do I add/join a special interest group?
A: To join a SIG, there are two steps:

  1. Indicate that you are interested in the SIG by going to your member compass, clicking "profile" on the left-hand sidebar, and adding the SIG under the "Special Interest Groups" heading. You may join as many SIGs as you'd like. Make sure to save your profile to ensure you have joined the SIG.
  2. To interact with other SIG members, find the SIG-specific community page at the button below. Access is only permitted to USASBE members.
