Why Join Sigma Nu Tau?
Other than being part of an exclusive group of scholars, being in an honor society has many benefits:

- To have opportunities to gain leadership experiences as an chapter officer or committee chair
- To be eligible and have greater credibility when applying for awards and scholarships

When you join an honor society, it’s more than being invited into a club. It’s a life changing opportunity to make new friends by getting involved, It’s a chance to build leadership skills and your character, as well as enhancing your experiences. How to Join Sigma Nu Tau
We are excited that you are interested in becoming a member of Sigma Nu Tau! Here is the process of becoming a member.
- Find your chapter: Use our directory to find out if your school has an active Sigma Nu Tau chapter.
- Meet the requirements: View the requirements for each member type below, and start working towards meeting them!
- Reach out to your chapter's faculty advisor: Contact your faculty advisor to express your interest in joining the chapter, and they will share further details. Need help contacting your faculty advisor? Reach out to us and we will put you in touch.
Membership Requirements
For All Student Members:
- Must possess honor, integrity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- Must be taking a bachelor’s, master’s or Ph.D. program with a major, minor or other program of study that substantively includes the major knowledge areas, skills, and competencies required of an entrepreneur.
- For Undergraduate Students:
- Must have earned at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA.
- Must have junior class standing or higher.
- For Graduate Students:
- Must have earned at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
- Must have completed at least 50% of graduate coursework.
For Faculty/Staff Members:
- Faculty or Staff members who will serve as the Faculty Advisor and Faculty Secretary should submit their membership applications with the “Petition to Establish a collegiate Chapter” form.
- Who have enhanced the study of entrepreneurship.
For Entrepreneur Members:
- Entrepreneurs who have demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit and
- Who are models of principled entrepreneurship.
For Honorary Members:
- Persons who have achieved distinction in their chosen profession or
- Persons who have rendered unusually significant service through their leadership in significant causes.
What if my school does not have a chapter?
If your school doesn't have a chapter, encourage them to start one. Contact a member of your school's faculty and ask them to help start a chapter. They can find out more information about starting a chapter using the button below.
