A Little Bit of Louisville History
- Louisville is where entrepreneurship met the American Frontier. Founded in 1778 and located right at the Falls of the Ohio River, Louisville became one of the nation's earliest locations for logistics and trade. Every river boat had to stop at the falls and unload their goods, making Louisville grow into a center of commerce, manufacturing, and innovation - making it a fitting destination for today's entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial educators.
- Louisville is home to the Kentucky Derby, one of the world's most iconic brands. Known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports", Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY has hosted the derby since 1875. The Kentucky Derby is inspiring for any entrepreneur as it was known for building an enduring brand that blends tradition, hospitality and innovation.
- Muhammad Ali, one of the world's greatest change makers was born and raised in Louisville. His legacy, extending far beyond boxing, inspires leaders and innovators in courage, conviction, and global leadership. His story is spread throughout the city, including the Muhammad Ali center, which promotes purpose, activism, and social impact.
