The USASBE Social Entrepreneurship SIG is now inviting nominations for their annual awards. You may view the specific award categories and criteria below.
General Requirements (applies to all awards)
- Finalists may be contacted for further information, as needed.
- Self-nominations are welcomed.
- Finalists may be asked if they are willing to be nominated and to submit more information for further consideration and review.
- By submitting a nomination you are acknowledging that you may be contacted to help connect with the nominee if they are selected.
Award Categories & Criteria
Deadline to submit nominations for this award is November 15 at 11:59PM Pacific Time
Nominee should be an individual who serves as a lecturer, professor, or educator of social entrepreneurship, social innovation, or anything within a related breadth of topics. Nominees should be directly teaching a full course in social entrepreneurship (or related topics) to be considered.
Please upload a letter of nomination no longer than two pages long which describes how the nominee fits the following criteria:
- Nominees should be an individual who serves as a lecturer, professor, or educator of social entrepreneurship, social innovation, or anything within a related breadth of topics.
- Nominees should be directly teaching a full course in social entrepreneurship (or related topics) to be considered.
- Innovative practices, methods, courses or noncredit courses/programs, or approaches to teaching will be considered.
- Course evaluations cannot be submitted unless embedded within the two-page nomination.
- A demonstrated commitment to social entrepreneurship education at any level, and their impact on social entrepreneurship education will be considered as well.

The nominee should be directly and actively involved in social entrepreneurship research (or within a related field) to be considered. Nominations of early scholars (i.e., at the Assistant Professor rank) are encouraged.
Please upload a one- to two-page letter of nomination describing how the nominee fits the following criteria:
- Nominees should be directly and actively involved in social entrepreneurship research (or within a related field) to be considered.
- Nominations of early scholars (i.e., at the Assistant Professor rank) are encouraged
- A demonstrated commitment to social entrepreneurship education at any level, and their impact on social entrepreneurship education will be considered as well.
- Article and journal information (e.g., citations, impact factor) cannot be submitted unless embedded within the two-page nomination.

Nominees should be an individual who has served as a founder of a social impact organization (not-for-profit or for-profit) or initiative (community or social impact leader) to make a positive contribution to the world. A demonstrated commitment to social entrepreneurship education at any level, and their impact on social entrepreneurship is not necessary but will be considered as well.
Please upload a one- to two-page letter of nomination describing how the nominee fits the following criteria:
- Nominees should be an individual who has served as a founder of a social impact organization (non-profit or for-profit) or initiative (community or social impact leader) to make a positive contribution to the world.
- A demonstrated commitment to social entrepreneurship education at any level, and their impact on social entrepreneurship education at any level, and their impact on social entrepreneurship education is not necessary but will be considered as well.
Deadline to submit nominations for these awards is November 15 at 11:59PM Pacific Time
Submissions should include purpose/mission of the nominated program, an abbreviated description of the program or event, sources of funding, and evidence of program/pedagogical innovation/co-curricular innovation impact on stakeholders (e.g. students, campus, etc.) including both short and long-term outcomes.
Each nomination requires the submission of an executive summary that should contain the information described below.
- The name of the individual or school being nominated
- The name of the individual submitting the nomination
- A secondary contact person name, email and phone number (someone who can provide any additional materials if needed)
- The purpose and/or mission of the nominated program
- The primary objectives of the program or event
- An abbreviated description of the program or event
- Sources of funding and/or support for the program
- Evidence of program/pedagogical innovation/co-curricular innovation impact on stakeholders (e.g. students, campus, etc.) including both short and long-term outcomes
Exhibits
Up to two pages of exhibits (e.g. charts, diagrams, figures, tables, etc.) are accepted for submission. These may be used to more fully explain or clarify the text. Information about suggested outlines and topics to cover are provided to indicate minimum requirements related to the nomination and should be adjusted to reflect the specifics of an individual submission.
- The submission must be unique and not under consideration by USASBE or any other entity otherwise for an award AND has not been awarded recognition by a national or international level organization within the past two years.
- Only one social entrepreneurship event or program can be considered for an institution school. Receipt of multiple submissions may result in a disqualification for consideration.
