Sigma Nu Tau Outstanding Chapter Awards Program

Established in Spring of 2021, this program was designed to encourage all Sigma Nu Tau chapters to engage in several meaningful activities and to achieve excellence throughout the academic year. There are three award levels:

  1. Chapter Merit Award
  2. Silver Outstanding Chapter Award
  3. Gold Outstanding Chapter Award

From chapters achieving the Gold level award, two chapters will be selected as the 1st Place Overall Outstanding Chapter and 2nd Place Overall Outstanding Chapter. Both will receive a handsome plaque and a cash award.

To be eligible for the awards listed above, Sigma Nu Tau chapters must submit their Annual Report by June 1st of each year. For more information, please refer to the information below. The Annual Report Form can be filled out online, but chapters applying for silver or gold outstanding chapter awards also need to attach a PDF.

Requirements

Chapter Merit Award
  • Conduct an induction ceremony for new members.
  • Submit Sigma Nu Tau Annual Report Form by June 3rd.
  • Current student chapter members maintain a 3.2 GPA or higher (3.5 for graduate members).
Silver Outstanding Chapter Award
  • Complete requirements for Chapter Merit Award.
  • Complete & report on at least three (3) Sigma Nu Tau chapters activities from List of Activities on the Annual Report Form by June 1st.
  • One of the three activities must be selected from the list of Group A Activities.
Gold Outstanding Chapter Award
  • Complete requirements for Chapter Merit Award.
  • Identify 2 student members who will serve as chapter leaders.
  • Report on at least five (5) Sigma Nu Tau chapter activities from List of Activities on the Annual Report Form.
  • Two of the five activities must be selected from the list of Group A Activities.

Group A Activities
  1. Host or co-host an entrepreneurial guest speaker at a chapter meeting, induction ceremony, or event
  2. Host or co-host an entrepreneurial student expo
  3. Host or co-host a business plan, business pitch or elevator pitch competition
  4. Host, sponsor, or participate in another national Sigma Nu Tau or local Sigma Nu Tau chapter program or event not listed in Group A or B
  5. Host at least four chapter meetings per academic year (in person or virtual)
  6. Participate in Sigma Nu Tau video pitch competition (Spring)
Group B Activities
  1. Host or co-host a Sigma Nu Tau chapter Facebook page
  2. Host or co-host an entrepreneurial LinkedIn group
  3. Host or co-host a Sigma Nu Tau chapter website
  4. Participate in a Sigma Nu Tau-sponsored community service project or event
  5. Apply for a Sigma Nu Tau Scholarship (Fall)
