Professional Bio
Marie Segares is a Robert P. Stiller Endowed Chair & Associate Professor of
Business Management and Innovation at Champlain College. Marie is also the Program Director for Stiller School of Business majors. Marie earned an AB in sociology from Barnard
College, an MPH in sociomedical sciences from Columbia University, an MBA in leadership and change management and in entrepreneurship and innovation from New York University, and an EdD in organizational leadership studies from Northeastern University. Marie is also an artisan entrepreneur, creating digital content to self-publish and for major crafts manufacturers and publishers. Marie’s areas of research interest include artisan entrepreneurship, creative business, microenterprises, leadership, small-business marketing, and gender and diversity in entrepreneurship and organizations. Marie has conducted qualitative research using interviews and online survey methods with case study, narrative inquiry, and qualitative description approaches.
