USASBE 2021 Doctoral Consortium

USASBE 2021:

Doctoral Consortium for Teaching and Learning in Entrepreneurship

Academic careers involve both research and teaching. Many doctoral consortia emphasize traditional research, but the USASBE doctoral consortium immerses students in the world of teaching and learning entrepreneurship. We prepare students to boldly teach entrepreneurship and engage in entrepreneurship scholarship.

The 2021 USASBE Doctoral Consortium will be held completely online and spread out over four months. The consortium will kick-off during USASBE 2021 (Virtual Event, January 5-8, 2021) with a two-hour group meeting (Jill Kickul, Jeff Hornsby, Christoph Winkler). The kick-off will be followed-up with a number of exciting workshops and panel discussions that will be held over a three-month period (dates/times TBD). Workshops will be on topics related to pedagogy (Jim Hart), student assessment (Katie Wray, Richard Tunstall), entrepreneurship education research (Nathalie Duval, Diamanto Politis, Siri Terjesen, Matt Marvel), translation of traditional research to education (Luke Pittaway), as well as an interactive career panel (Susan Fiorito, Sher Gibbs, Susana Santos, Lois Shelton).

If accepted to attend the consortium, USASBE will cover the USASBE 2021 registration fee and a one-year USASBE membership.

The consortium will feature leading faculty in the discipline and will focus on enhancing the understanding of entrepreneurship education research and pedagogical issues relevant to the student who is preparing for a career of thought leadership and disciplinary advancement in entrepreneurship education.
