With the rapid growth of entrepreneurship courses, programs and extra-curricular activities for both undergraduate and master’s level students the need to develop and implement clear and effective policies and practices addressing student inventors has risen. Last year, recognizing this need, AUTM in collaboration with VentureWell published a new primer on managing student-generated IP as well as a series of case studies on how student-owned IP might be managed.

During this lively and informative webinar this guide to developing effective policy developed by AUTM with VentureWell will be reviewed and expert panelists will discuss the key issues involved in developing effective policies and practices for addressing student-generated IP and supporting the creation of an inventor-friendly culture.

Attendees will leave with an understanding of the key issues to consider when developing and administering a student-specific institutional IP policy.

Attendees Will Learn

* Understand the key challenges related to managing student-created IP
* Learn how to make decisions about ownership of student-created IP
* Gain insight into how and why different institutions craft student-specific IP policies
