GROUP MISSION
 

The Social Entrepreneurship Interest Group’s goal is to widen involvement of social entrepreneurship programs, educators, and courses and to facilitate the efforts of faculty and program leaders to train current and aspiring social entrepreneurs and prepare scholars to research in this emerging field. 

 

Teaching: 

The Social Entrepreneurship SIG seeks to support pedagogy development in social entrepreneurship to:

  • Engage in pedagogical enhancements in social entrepreneurship education,
  • Provide direct training through the Global Social Entrepreneurship certificate and other programs,
  • Maintain a database of teaching materials, and
  • Collaborate through a forum for regular dialog among social entrepreneurship educators.

 

Research and Scholarship:

The Social Entrepreneurship SIG seeks to support research in social entrepreneurship to:

  • Provide both live and online forums in which scholars with similar interests can meet, discuss their work, and obtain feedback on work at various stages of development.
  • Partner with the editorial staffs of relevant journals to enhance outlets for social entrepreneurship research.

GROUP ANNUAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

  • Group Objectives

    • Enhance and share teaching and research materials available at no cost on the Social Change Innovators online portal.
    • Work with other SIGS to create high quality workshops and symposia for the annual conference.
    • Enhance networking opportunities for SIG members to collaborate on Social Entrepreneurship issues in teaching, research and community engagement.
    • Celebrate excellence in teaching and scholarship of members in the field of social entrepreneurship.
    • Collaborate with the editors of the Journal of Ethics in Entrepreneurship and other journal outlets to encourage publications on social entrepreneurship topics.

Teaching Resources

Resources are available for faculty interested in developing new teaching tools through the Social Change Innovators whose shared commitment is to make a difference in our classrooms, to share innovation classroom content with faculty from around the world, highlight unique social change programs, and to encourage research in the field that led to the creation of the www.socialchangeinnovators.com online portal.

 

Global Social Entrepreneurship Certificate Program 

ICSB Global along with affiliates like USASBE offers educators, researchers, entrepreneurs, students, government officials, and small business owners the opportunity to advance their entrepreneurial knowledge and skills through the new innovative ICSB Global Social Entrepreneurship Certificate (ICSB Global SE).  The program now offers a unique in-person and online educational hybrid instruction model where participants can join in-person at different ICSB dedicated events or take all the modules online: https://icsbglobal.org/certificate-program/.

 

Social Entrepreneurship Conference

The Annual Social Entrepreneurship Conference is a two-day conference that brings together scholars, researchers, students and practitioners from around the world to discuss emerging concepts and explore topics in social enterprise, innovation, sustainability and impact.
