Group Pages

International is a social interest group organized under the auspices of the Articles of Incorporation of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) to promote and encourage the development and advancement of programs and services in the specific entrepreneurship field and to provide a forum for information exchange.

The Mission of the USASBE International Entrepreneurship Interest Group is to provide a forum for the development of academic research, teaching and curricular advances, and best practices in outreach efforts related to International entrepreneurship. International entrepreneurship is defined as the entire process of global or cross-border-based enterprise creation from ideation and invention through technology transfer and full commercialization. International entrepreneurship will include all products and services that are sourced, produced, manufactured, marketed and sold in more than one country in any industry. Our members are experienced educators and researchers and through this interest group we will focus in possible areas of cooperation in research, teaching and outreach in International Entrepreneurship.
Leadership of the Group is elected annually by the Group membership; questions relative to Group mission, membership; annual work program and objectives should be directed to one of the following members of the leadership team:

Group Co-Chair
John Liddy
Syracuse University
Group Co-Chair

John Dobson, DBA
Seton Hill University
Greenburg, PA

A member of USASBE in good standing, that has professional interest in the specific field of the Group and wishes to pursue expansion and promotion of the field and personal advancement through knowledge exchange and participation in the mission of the Group, is eligible for membership.

Annually, following the USASBE annual conference, IEIG develops a work plan that outlines goals and objectives for upcoming year. IEIG has identified the following objectives:

  • Share information about national and international events and conferences that are of common interest to the group to facilitate year round networking and opportunities for learning.

  • Share best practices of successful educational models that enhance student academic and applied experience, attract interest in the field, highlight innovative courses, identify entrepreneurial management techniques and successful case studies in the area of global entrepreneurship.

  • Identify common areas of research interest and pool educators as co-authors or contributors to upcoming publishing.

  • Understand the causes of international entrepreneurial failures and identify and promote viable processes and techniques for global success.

  • Understanding the factors of success that lead some universities, research labs, and private companies to be successful in technology creation and transfer.
