Interest Groups: Creative and Arts Entrepreneurship

Creative and Arts Entrepreneurship is a social interest group organized under the auspices of the Articles of Incorporation of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) to promote and encourage the development and advancement of programs and services in the specific entrepreneurship field and to provide a forum for information exchange.

The Creative and Arts Interest Group's purpose is to promote awareness, interest and investment in Arts Entrepreneurship.

To meet this purpose the Interest Group intends to focus on bringing knowledge of Creative and Arts Entrepreneurship to practitioners, artists, arts students, educators and other interested parties to enhance the ability to successfully develop, assess and meet the needs of the field.

Leadership of the Group is elected annually by the Group membership; questions relative to Group mission, membership; annual work program and objectives should be directed to one of the following members of the leadership team:

Creative and Arts Entrepreneurship includes, but is not limited to, performing and visual arts, entertainment, media, gaming, and other artistic endeavors.

Annually as an element of the Association’s strategic planning process, the Group develops a work plan that outlines goals and objectives for the program year. Outlined below are annual goals and objectives adopted by the Group:

1.     We hope to see an increase of papers submitted, workshops approved and conducted, representing the Arts Entrepreneurship membership/SIG.

2.     We hope to increase the number of collaborations between Arts Entrepreneurship and other SIG’s.

3.     We plan to disseminate information to the SIG, at least two times per year, regarding happenings in the field and opportunities for our members. We will encourage feedback and communication.

4.     We plan to establish a communication platform through LinkedIn.
