Interest Groups: Technology & Life Sciences
Group Pages
Technology and Life Sciences is a special interest group organized under the auspices of the Articles of Incorporation of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) to promote and encourage the development and advancement of programs and services in the specific entrepreneurship field and to provide a forum for information exchange.
GROUP MISSION

The Mission of the USASBE Technology and Life Sciences Entrepreneurship Interest Group is to provide a forum for the development of scholarly insights, pedagogical and curricular advances, and best practices in outreach efforts related to technology entrepreneurship. Technology entrepreneurship is defined as the entire process of technology-based enterprise creation from ideation and invention through technology transfer and commercialization to growth of high tech firms. Technology entrepreneurship will encompass all areas of high technology that include, and are not limited to, information technology, nanotechnology, life sciences technology, and environmental technology.

Both students and faculty at universities and colleges conduct a substantial amount of research in multiple disciplines with the goal of developing breakthrough technologies that have the potential to change and improve the world through the creation of new enterprises. Our research agenda will focus on the need for innovation, improved development of synergistic research activities, better understanding of the field of technology development, and accelerated transfer to commercialization and entrepreneurial start-up.
