Group Pages

The Corporate Entrepreneurship and Innovation is a special interest group organized under the auspices of the Articles of Incorporation of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) to promote and encourage the development and advancement of programs and services in the specific entrepreneurship field and to provide a forum for information exchange.

GROUP ANNUAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Annually as an element of the Association’s strategic planning process, the Group develops a work plan that outlines goals and objectives for the program year. Outlined below are annual goals and objectives adopted by the Group:
  1. FOSTERING CREATIVITY, INNOVATION, AND CHANGE IN PRACTICE AND TEACHING.
Creativity, innovation, and change are important to the development and diffusion of entrepreneurship within all types of organizations. The interest group has the opportunity to develop workshops to spread knowledge on these topics to USASBE members and outside groups. In 2010, the interest group will build on previous efforts and host a Professional Development Workshop on creativity, innovation, and change at the 2010 annual meeting. In addition, the interest group will try to develop a workshop on diagnosing an organization's entrepreneurial climate that can be presented at various locations around the country.

  2. FEATURED PRESENTATIONS AT THE USASBE CONFERENCE.
Corporate entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial strategy, creativity, and innovation are topics explored by many top scholars. One goal of the interest group is to bring scholars to the USASBE conference to share their insights with members. Such knowledge exchange will stimulate high caliber research at the USASBE conference. The interest group will present a seminar on the latest developments in corporate entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial strategy at the 2010 USASBE Conference, inviting both scholars and top managers.

  3. HIGH CALIBER RESEARCH.
The focus of the interest group will be high caliber research and the advancement of scholarship. Excellence will be the standard rather than numbers of accepted papers. It is the interest group's belief that setting a high standard will attract better quality in submissions. This is set and begins with thorough reviews of papers by the most respected reviewers in the field. The interest group will also promote improvement in methodologies used in scholarly work on corporate entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity. The interest group will promote research as its main focus over the next few years. Scholarly activity will better promote our interest group and the USASBE organization as a whole. The interest group will be an opportunity for more scholars to become more active in USASBE.
