Family Business is a special interest group organized under the auspices of the Articles of Incorporation of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) to promote and encourage the development and advancement of programs and services in the specific entrepreneurship field and to provide a forum for information exchange.
The Family Business Special Interest Group of USASBE will strengthen family business teaching and research as well as service to the entrepreneurial family firm by providing its membership with innovative pedagogical techniques through a variety of means and by encouraging research and outreach activities and dissemination of the best results.
Leadership of the Group is elected annually by the Group membership; questions relative to Group mission, membership; annual work program and objectives should be directed to one of the following members of the leadership team:

1. Conduct a pre-conference workshop which reflects the interests of a majority of the Family Business SIG's membership.
2. Conduct a workshop on family business research from leaders in the field during the annual USASBE conference.
3. Conduct a workshop on family business curriculum models from leaders in the field during the annual USASBE conference.
4. Communicate with the Family Business SIG membership concerning areas of interest related to SIG and to the Annual Conference.
