About the Irish Impact Social Entrepreneurship Conference:
Notre Dame has made a serious commitment to social innovation in the last few years and it is of great interest to our students and alumni. The Irish Impact Conference is our way of bringing the social entrepreneurship community together to share ideas, provide feedback and network. David Bornstein, social innovation journalist and author of three books on social entrepreneurship, will be our keynote speaker and we are in the middle of confirming dozens of other social innovators and entrepreneurs for the program. In addition to speeches and panels, we will be hosting the Zielsdorf Family Pitch Competition on Wednesday to kick off the conference and on Friday, we are holding our Opportunity Fair, which will allow students, faculty/staff, alumni, and friends of Notre Dame to learn more about some of the latest social enterprises connected to the university.
Logistics and Course Fees:
The Irish Impact Conference is free, but the cost for the USASBE Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship, including attendance in all eight modules and all resources provided, is $1,500. The first three modules will be delivered at the Irish Impact Social Entrepreneurship Conference, with the remainder of the modules delivered at the USASBE Conference in Fort Worth in January, as well as the UMKC Midwest Symposium on Social Entrepreneurship in spring 2014. Some of the modules will be delivered during the Irish Impact Conference, including Module 1 on Wednesday afternoon, October 2nd and Modules 2 and 3 on Friday, October 4th.
