Entrepreneurial Support Organizations
Domain Statement
The Entrepreneurial Support Organizations Division will focus on the interests and contributions of advisors, facilitators, and non-traditional educators of entrepreneurs and small business owners. Support organizations include operating foundations, public policy groups, consultants, trainers, and people who work in incubators, small business development centers, and entrepreneurship centers, and others with similar roles.
Our vision is to create a network of entrepreneurial support organizations that regularly share best practices among one another in an effort to better serve the entrepreneurial community.
Our mission is to create an environment that is conducive to the exchange of new ideas and best practices among entrepreneurial support organizations in an effort to better serve the entrepreneurs and small business owners that we assist.
The Entrepreneurial Support Organizations Division supports theoretical, conceptual, and empirical research on all spectrums of entrepreneurial support organizations. These topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- Public Policy on Small Business
- Local, Regional and National Economic Development Programs
- Small Business Development Centers
- Business Incubators
- Non-traditional educators of entrepreneurs
- Social Entrepreneurs
- Networking among support organizations
- Emerging support organizations
- Collaborations among and between support organizations
